The Waukesha Antique Mall traces its origins back to 2005 when it was originally founded as “Family Heirlooms” antique store in downtown Waukesha. Started by a Mother and Daughter team along with each of their husbands -who were all seasoned antique collectors and dealers.
An opportunity came up and they decided to open their own antique shop on Main Street in downtown Waukesha. They were soon approached by several other antique dealers who wanted to get into this new store location, but that location was too small to hold multiple dealers. When a larger building became available, the “Waukesha Antique Mall” was born. It grew rapidly in popularity with both customers and dealers, and there was a waiting list for dealers to get in.
Later that same year another large building across the parking lot became available and the decision was made to open another mall in the same area, and “Family Heirlooms Antique Mall” became the sister store to WAM.
Business was growing. After several years, It was decided that a new single location was needed. In 2013 the move was made to consolidate both malls into the current single larger location at 1427 Racine Ave., located just outside of the downtown area, with much better visibility, access and parking.
In 2019 ownership shifted slightly as one of the original partners retired, and the son of the remaining owner was brought on board along with the stores’ longtime manager who was offered a partnership in the business. Sadly, in 2023 the remaining original (and beloved) owner John passed away (at the age of 91), but his son Jerry and the stores’ manager Penny carry on the tradition of the family focused business.
The Waukesha Antique Mall continues to draw in people from all over the country looking for quality antique and collectibles and a stellar shopping experience!
